After-school care
Around 750 pupils attend the Grundschule unter dem Regenbogen. More than 400 of them attend the after-school care centre. The after-school care centre provides additional support and care during school hours and holidays from 6 am to 6 pm.
What makes it special: More than 30 educators from the KIDS & CO association and the Grundschule unter dem Regenbogen - including 9 specialist educators for integration - jointly organise the childcare services. The team of educators is present in all areas of the children's everyday school life. This includes early and late shifts, accompanying lessons, excursion days, projects in the classes, supervising meals, accompanying pupils during breaks as well as homework supervision for pupils from Year 3 onwards.
For after-school care, the children have access to a wide range of spacious facilities set up especially for this purpose. This is where the majority of group life takes place, where children can play and learn together. Two gymnasiums, two school halls, a dance and exercise room, a wood workshop and a classroom provide sufficient space for after-school activities.
Our „island“, the integration room, is available to children with special needs as a haven of peace.
